NOTICE:

This website was founded and maintained by William Curtis of Fresno, CA until the fall of 2004. In 2005, he turned over maintenance to The Curtis/s Family Society.  It is and will be for some time, a work in progress.  We are just beginning to make corrections and changes. Look for those changes in the months ahead. Be patient! Thank you.

Curtis / Curtiss Society:

If you are new to the site, be sure to check out the information on the "Curtis / Curtiss Society" (a society which tracks all Curtis, Curtiss, Curtice surnames for the Genealogy researcher).

Recommendations:

This website highly recommends the Curtis mailing list for those researching this surname. Just send an email with the word subscribe as the only text in the body of a message, to curtis-l-request@rootsweb.com for the Curtis list and curtiss-l-request@rootsweb.com for the Curtiss list. For complete instructions visit the Rootsweb mailing list page.

During our 2007 Reunion in Dade City Florida, member speaker Cheryl A. Curtis Behrend gave a 30-minute presentation on the website: www.findagrave.com . She told us how to sign up and log on to view or to enter photos and gravesite information. You are the owner of the ones you enter and you can transfer them over another if he or she has a closer connection with the posted Curtises. You can go in and search by state, by county or for a specific cemetery. You can add a name and location and request a photo and someone may volunteer to take a photo for you. You can print up the information and photos. Cheryl showed photos of Curtis tombstones from various cemeteries across the country. You can set up a 'virtual cemetery' on one ancestor and then enter your information on the entire family line.

Curtis Connections  --  A very nice website with many Curtis/Curtiss links.
